Qatar

Qatar is an oil- and gas-rich nation, with the third largest gas reserves, and the first or second highest GDP per capita in the world. An absolute monarchy, Qatar has been ruled by the al-Thani family since the mid-1800s and has since transformed itself from a British protectorate noted mainly for pearling into an independent state with significant oil and natural gas revenues.

 

Qatar is a destination country for men and women from South and Southeast Asia. Just like other countries in the Middle East, Qatar’s main source of income is from their oil reserves.

Qatar has created a new law designed to protect its foreign residents and workers. The new Sponsorship law will replace the Law No.3 of 1963 and Law No.2 of 1984 which governs the exit permit and sponsorship.
